Beaches
The beaches of Lorca (Calnegre), Aguilas (Carolinas) and Vera Playa are all about 50 minutes from the villa. The Carolina beaches, just south of Aguilas are popular and quite busy after 4.00pm when the Spanish like to come to the beach. There is a nice restuarant, open for about 9 months of the year and the two small bays provide safe and warm swimming.

Calnegre beaches are isolated and reached via quite steep tracks. However the beaches are well maintained and have car parking right next to the beach. These are two of the beaches of Calnegre, The sea is clear, ideal for snorkelling and the gently sloping beach makes the rock free sea bed very safe for swimming. Best to take food and drink as the cafe is only open at the height of summer.
There are two beaches making up the Carolinas. The photo on the left shows the smaller of these with its curious weathered cliff. There is a nice restuarant, open for about 9 months of the year and quite popular in the height of summer.
On the right you can see the long expanse of sand making up the ’playa nudista’ at Vera. An interesting and popular beach. |
