Climate

Murcia has one of the lowest average annual rainfalls in Spain and an average temperature of 21 degrees per annum. The region also has at least 315 days of sunshine each year and daytime temperatures in winter are 7-18c making it an ideal time to explore, walk and enjoy a lunch by the sea.  In short winter is very mild and sunbathing in a sheltered spot near our pool is a lovely afternoon activity! Sunset in December and January is about 6.30pm, a welcome change from the UK!  In January/February  the almond blossom cloaks the trees on the hills and valleys like a dusting of icing sugar. Just 2 hours away are the Sierra Nevada’s for real snow and a spot of skiing or snowboarding.

Spring is like summer in the UK. Pools start heating up and you will be lazing on your terrace and BBQ’s will seem like a good idea. Still a good time to walk and mountain bike you will find the urge to explore and enjoy lunch by the sea.

Summers are hot (30c+) and it is not advisable to be out and about between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.  Most Spanish people go to the beach after 4.00pm and stay till 8.00pm. The sea will be a lovely 26c + and hopefully so will our pool! As the sun goes down between 8.00-9.00pm you can BBQ and eat out late into the night.

Autumn is gorgeous and goes on into November. You can swim in the sea, sunbathe and eat out until early November. Hopefully it rains sometime in autumn and the landscape quickly becomes green and wildflowers will flourish.
